Computer Networking
(Second semester) 18 points
This course examines local area networks and metropolitan area networks. Topics covered include Ethernet, token bus and token ring networks, repeaters, bridges, routers, packet switching, X.25, Frame relay, congestion control, TCP/IP protocol suite, Internet applications, socket programming, data security. Some advanced topics, such as ATM networks and wireless networking, are addressed. C programming is taught and required for the lab work.
